Tomorrow

This is a poem I wrote while I was waiting for pills to kick in. It's oddly spaced and somewhat crude, but enjoy. Also, write your own poem, if only for the fuck of it.

P.S. I think this is my 300th thread....what a waste.

Tomorrow

How many tasks have I to do?
Must I sacrifice my leisure for labour?
The hours move so quickly that

I soon lose track of the time.
My concentration departs me,
leaving me to wonder aimlessly
among the duties I must perform.

My thoughts are scattered about.
Panic begins to consume me.
Everything seems so ambigious now,
the curse of a wondering mind.
Is there no day in which

I can fulfill my given duties?
Is there no day in which
I can bask in my leisure?

Yes, there is but one,
how glorious it is.
It is the day named tomorrow.
Tomorrow, my dear friend.

All tasks can be done

in the hours of tomorrow.
Time is infinite there,
I have no need to worry.

Tomorrow, what pure perfection.
Tomorrow, what a blessing.
Tomorrow, what convenience!

Yes, postponement is ideal.
For tomorrow will provide

me with the hours that I require.
For now I lay my head to rest
and allow sloth to consume me.

Tomorrow, how far off it is.
Tomorrow, the day of days.
Tomorrow, such a luxury.

Upon my wakening,
I was met with a surprise.
Tomorrow had not yet arrived.
How deceitful time can be.

I lay my head to rest once more.
I will lay there in tranquility

and meet tomorrow in the morning.

Upon my wakening,
I was not met by tomorrow.
I was not met by my dear friend.
It was today who now took me.

How deceitful time can be,
for tomorrow never comes.

Today

Right or wrong, I live for today
People fight, people run, people die
But I am never to pay
For that bill has been issued to others.

Yesterday:

Should have done it then,
Won't do it now,
It'll be too late tommorow,
The other day based poems didn't rhyme,
So why should this one.

a jolly lovely poem,
brought tears of knowing affiliation
to these tired and lazy eyes...
