Some good - no, make that GREAT - news:

Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh to produce Halo movie
The film would be shot in Jackson's production and post-production facilities in Wellington.
"I'm a huge fan of the game and look forward to helping it come alive on the cinema screen," Jackson said in a statement.
Thus, it should be a pretty damn good movie!

Now for the bad news:

Mike Myers is to play the late Keith Moon in a film about the Who's wild drummer.
Nothing against Myers personally, but I don't rate him as that good an actor. Very good comic actor, definitely but only when he overacts in his comic roles. And he's liable to do the same for this role, thus turning it into a caricarture and parody of that late, great drummer.

Thus, it should be a pretty damn good movie!did you see the other movies that Peter Jackson directed and produced? I would reserve my zeal until the movie comes out. if I remember Halo... it's like Doom. a FPS... and games are hard to make into movies. "Alone in the Dark" anyone?

I wish him luck. probably won't see the movie tho.

thats true, but a) Jackson's older, much shitter movies were made on very low budgets, and b) they didn't have much in the way of plot, while c) Halo (unlike Doom) actually has a pretty good plot... i think it could be done very well indeed
