How frequently do you do it?

There that title should get some people's attention.
Anyway, how often do you make obscure references to music/movies/sitcoms/serial killers/etc? The question came to me as I talked about planning "Sawney Bean" type activities for my potential children.
For those not in the know A linky (http://www.seanachaidh.org/sawney.htm) (no images, and the text is literally lifted from a 19th century book, so no severe gore).
After posting this, and then seeing the reply, it occured to me that most people probably aren't as bored as I am, and thus have better things to spend there brain cells remembering.

So, yeah, what about you? Is everything you say 100% original, or have all of your posts been literal transcripts from some 19th century novella series that no one has ever heard of?

Nope. No 19th century novella quotes, but I do like to repeat what Homer Simpson says a lot.

I do it quite frequently in normal conversation (not that an online forum is abnormal, but maybe that is best discussed elsewhere)
My husband gets almost all of them, but nobody else really does.

top ten things I make reference to (in no particular order)
Hitchhikkers Guide
Star Wars
Star Trek
70's horror flix
Caddy Shack
Greek/Roman Mythology
Muriel's Wedding
The 80's
The Regan years (yes that is different than the 80's)
Radio shows from the 40's

in religious posts, i either type something from Lain or GitS (Ghost in the Shell). in warfare-type posts, i'll throw in Art of War or Hagakure. Maybe some Robotech as well...

cats have better things to do. naps are the top priority for us.

i dunno as i am so busy babbling all the time. i am sure i have quoted top cat or felix, maybe i quoted sylvester or jinx, or maybe morris. well we all say meow. so i guess we all quote each other. very deep question.

it may be worth pondering but i just can't stop my napping.

When you say obscure, are you talking Dennis Miller obscure or just "If it ain't on Reality TV, it's new to me" obscure?

Personally, though, I'll reference whatever, whenever it's appropriate.

I qoute Monthy Pyhton, HippHipp!, stupid movies, good movies, Terry Pratchett, NileCity 105.6, all things Jack Nicholson, and a bunch of other pop-culture things.

I'd hate to listen to my own conversations if I were someone else!
(But I try to do it only when speaking to my family who at least have a clue)

Because of the loser I am I quote things form movies/shows/readings that no one my age knows. Monty python, black adder, various philosophers, cartoons, funny thngs I think.

For instance my theme for when I went for school council was the cartoon rejected... nether the less no one really knew about the cartoon.... but Iastill one...

One of my posters was a block of cheese, another was from the spoon skit, the kar-azyness just did not end...m

Yes I am a loser...
