It seems that a significant proportion of nationstates is played by people that want to make it as close to real life as possible. No I don't want to offend anyone by saying this, as everyone has the right to play it how they seem fit.

All i am saying is that with life as bedraggeld as it is, and with many governments screwing up the world, should this be a facsimilie of the world we know? Why shouldn't the UN enforce the abililty to test gene warfare on the public.

The reason why I bring this up is that the minority of players of NS want to play it as psychoticaly as possible, and with the 'real' players in are far more numerous, the 'unreal' players don't have a chance to influence the UN and therefore the world in the way they want.

If this place ever starts reflecting reality to much, it'll go beyond weird. As the saying goes, the difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense.

Just a thought. Reply below(as i'm sure you will)considering that some schools have talked about using NationStates as a model for their Poli Sci classes...

I would, however, like to see some Global senarios that would make the UN members really think about the resolutions they are voting for. a Ban on all nuclear Weapons was passed then you have a Fictious coalition of Rouge Nations threaten the world with nuclear Attacks and see how the UN will resolve this when they themselve disarmed their Nuclear weapons.... that sorta thing.

Good point actually, I suppose because we need an outlet for envisaged nations, or alternatively since we have no lives... :p

Thats something else, in real life there isn't always a "Myrth" option. When my alarm goes off my only options are:
Snooze it
Ignore it
Turn it off, but don't get up
Turn it off, and do get up
Why can't I just Myrth? (How does declinsion work with Myrth? Do you "Myrthate"? "Myrthize"?)

i agree with you dude, it is taken a bit too seriously... however a few days ago i found myself sucked into my pc due to an electrical storm, and i spent 48 hours having to survive in my own nation for real! but no one belives me, averyone thinks i'm a liar, a LIAR!

i was the one that killed the huge breasted foxbird, i am the one who spent all the original currency! but i survived... i survived i tell you hahahahahah!

If NS were real life, I'd move to my nation right away.

Sadly, it isn't, so I see no reason to take it seriously.

I mean, imagine a nation in which everyone could do whatever they want all the time, and it works. Czardas in NS can never really exist IRL, it would just become a somewhat ordered anarchy.
