Get some mobile artillery. That'll clear the trafic jams right quick, and from a few miles away too.

:D alas it has to be legal (or available to buy ;) )

in other words the gun will be sealed up to make the vehicle "harmless"

Look, If you are going to go on the cheap I can't help you.

If you are going to stop screwing around & be serious then this is what you are looking for:

http://www.ncbuy.com/news/2003-05-30/1006964.html

"PARKSVILLE, B.C. (Wireless Flash) -- Anchors aweigh! An old British WWII aircraft carrier is up for sale to the general public.

The HMS Vengeance was built in 1944 and loaned to Australia from 1953 to 1955 before being sold to Brazil in 1956 and eventually de-commissioned in 2001.

The 693-foot vessel came into hands of British Columbia-based boat reseller French Creek Boat Sales Ltd. which sells sail boats, tug boats and other ships."

Leave it to a hippie to help you out (I'm not really a hippie, but I'm no military fetishist...)

You can go for the Harley Dirt Bike (http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/4/2/80503742.htm)
If you poke around you can even find ones that still have the case for the M-16 (don't get on my case if the gun isn't right, I'm only going by the ads I've seen)

Then there is the Swiss option (http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/0/3/78054303.htm), a Condor A350.

Or from Belguim, the FN Model 13 Military Police bike (http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/8/4/46315384.htm)

Or a genuine WWII bike for the war's great 'also rans,' the Italians-the Moto Guzzi (http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/9/9/74561799.htm)

You can go for that whole Garden State effect with a side car with this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other-Makes-SUPER-800cc-Dnepr-800cc-military-Ural-BMW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6719QQitemZ4579816386QQrdZ1)

Of course there is the all-conquering UNIMOG!!!! (http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/8/2/80726482.htm)
You have to say it that way. Try it, it's fun.

There is a certain 'Man' quality to the M37 Power Wagon (http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/0/9/80724609.htm), not to mention it being fairly usable in day to day.

Every once in a while you can run across a military dune buggy or a Ferret scout tank, but I don't know how cheap either would be.

Alright. I've found what you are looking for.

What you want is an All-Terrain Armored Fighting Vehicle.

Basically, you are looking for a Mecha.

What about one of these:

You should be able to find quite a few replicas. Most of the original stuff met a very ugly end.

What about an old VW Beetle (the Bug)? They're pretty cheap and were used by the military. You can use it to cross the Irish sea and save bundle in ferries:
