For anyone silly enough to run an ATI graphics card (Includes the new architecture r520 ATI cards [x1800]):

Half-Life 2 benchmarks (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1813.2/)
Doom 3 benchmarks (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1813.3/)
FarCry benchmarks (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1813.4/)
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory benchmarks (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1813.5/)

All these benchmarks include:

GeForce 7800GTX SLi
GeForce 7800GTX
GeForce 7800GT
GeForce 6800 Ultra SLi
GeForce 6800GT SLi
GeForce 6800 Ultra
GeForce 6800GT
ATI Radeon x1800 XT
ATI Radeon x1800 Pro
ATI Radeon x850XT PE

Overall, all three ATI cards get their ass handed to them by the 7800GT/GTX

" Oh no, my new notebook (http://h50025.www5.hp.com/hpcom/au_en/11_29_63_3708_EE549PA.html) has a ATI Mobility Radeon X600 PCI-Express X16 Graphics (256MB DDR SDRAM) ... My life must be over, or something. "

...

" Strange, these games ... They seem to be working fine ... "

Also, bless the irony gods who, because of all the NS related pages I have open just now, made the fire-fox tabs above shorten those page names to " hardware anal ... ",

That may be, but for some reason GeForce has always been buggy on my system. Hence, ATI has my loyalty for overal performance and reliability.

I was always an ATI fanboi. Until I tried the x850. Then I sold it for above retail price to a friend. Bought the 7800GT CO. I can't believe I've avoided nVidia for so long.

In my previous system (I bought it last year), I had ATI X800 XT Platinum Edition graphics card. While I was satisfied with performance, stability was an issue. This September I bought a system with NVidia Geforce 7800 GTX, it represents a great improvement in terms of performance and the system is perfectly stable.

Like I said, nVidia > ATI right now :P
