isn't it funny?
Isn't it funny how people on this board are up in arms about the 'Horrors' of New Orleans, the riots, the roving gangs of Murderous citizens, police praying on the survivors, yet when it's revealed that almost all the 'Horror' Stories of New Orleans was made up, but still printed and circulated by the newspapers and other 'news' services, there was only one thread about it. The safeguards that the newspapers put forth obviously failed and there is no outcry? no one demanding accountability?
Should the Newspapers and other news services/media be held accountable for the lies they spread?
Lovely 1st Amendment says the press can say that Canada has invaded the U.S. and we are now under the leadership of Prime Minister Jesus C. Putin
Lovely 1st Amendment says the press can say that Canada has invaded the U.S. and we are now under the leadership of Prime Minister Jesus C. Putinah, yes, but there is still accountability. sure the New York Times can print that, but they will have to deal with the fall out. but this time there isn't any. Remember MemoGate? people were calling for heads then, now not a peep about it.
It's probably because this makes Bush look better than he did when the "horror stories" were still credible.

To be quite honest, I couldn't imagine why there would be massive riots. Who would they be demonstrating too? What else could they destroy? And as far as the looting, I've seen pictures of "looted" goods floating in the streets and such. Everything was clearly blown out of proportion, probably due to reporting the same thing over and over by competing media services and freelancers.
Kind like how the buses were needed, wait they couldn't get there in time, wait we need them again, cancel that, okay so they're here already, what do we do? DUH! Get people out! Oh, wait, where to go....
It's Poutine.
No... Vladimir Putin is the current head of Russia, dude.

Most of the horror stories were hearsay, but the British tourists said that there was intimidation. No more than you'd usually get in an American city, though. ;)

Wait, you mean that that story wasn't really true?
So, I am eating this funny bacon and saying "eh" to people, for nothing, eh?
Dammit! That is the last time I trust the big news media, and it is certainly the last time I try to learn French in support of an invading foriegn power that isn't actually invading.
I'll bet that this Jesus Putin fellow isn't even Prime Minister of Canada, eh? I bet he's only an advisor or governer!
I believe in nothing anymore!

We don't have governors. We have a governor general, though. Is that what you meant, or are you talking about Premiers?

There is an alternative to the mass media so pedalled in the US.
You can start with the BBC that is (mostly) more 'free' than the controlled media in the US. Fox - it's a joke !
You could try www.informationclearinghouse.info that website compiles articles from many different sources and some written for the website.
It's a shame that Murdoch wants to own every form of media and pollute our minds with his drivel.

You crazy Canadians and your having Jesus Putin as Governor General, will you ever learn? Owning the U.S. is a pain in the ass. I mean, the British tried it, and they got so frustrated at no one understanding what the point of all this tea was that they gave up.
Hell, we have to pay our own people 100s of thousands in cash money each year, and we still have a turn over rate higher than most major companies Presidential positions.

LOL! I only found out what poutine is during my last visit to Canada, which I just got back from earlier this week. I had never heard of it before that. Even McDonald's and A&W have it up there! :p

You're lucky, actually. Frenchies will eat anything.
