Just curious. You can leave an explanation, but I'll be signing off at 4.30 (pst), so don't expect instant replies from me.

Personally, I'm learning french, but I'm only semi-fluent. As in, I can carry on a conversation and read/write in french if the level of the language is relatively basic. But I promise you I can say more than Bonjour and Je m'appelle TC.

I speak french, but it's rusty. I was fluent at one point, now my speech sucks, but I can read it well.

I can speak some Cheyenne(Language of the Tsitsistas-it has no real name though it is of Algonquian Language Family, and Arapaho--also Algonquian) Though I dont speak it well enough to be even remotely fluent.

I speak some Spanish, Arabic, and Russian.

After I get more fluent in Cheyenne I want to learn Gaelic.

I speak some Irish Gaelic, not fluently lack of practice, Spanish, quite decently both read and write, Bosnian, speak and read imperfectly but read it easily, so long as it's Latin characters, learning Cyrillic characters but it's now officially harder for me than math used to be!
Just obtained some books to learn Russian sort of on an 'oh what the Hell here they are at the library sale, for 25 cents each, zasto ne?!' basis.
Can understand spoken Macedonian and since I correspond with a player who only writes to me in Macedonian I'm begining to read it. It gives me a damn headach though to read.

Oh, how I love ignorant people.

I am part Tsitsistas, there are only about 2000 fluent speakers of the Tsitsistas language in the world. I wanto to be 2001.

I am also Irish, however even if I wasnt Gaelic is the oldest written European Language. There is more history in the Gaelic language then any other Language in Europe. The root of culture, and of my heritage.

Please however, enlighten me.
What is a "Real" language?

I want to learn gaelic too.

There was a peruvian language I wanted to learn, it's slowly getting wiped out by spanish... but I dunno.

Also, I want to learn greek. Mostly because one of my friends speaks greek and when we're on the phone he'll talk to his dad in greek about me because he doesn't want me to know what he's saying. grr.

As far as sexy languages go, I think Russian has to be the winner.
I knw everyone says French--but real French sounds ugly and gutteral like you are clearing your throat.

Russian--sounds like a passionate embrace.

Eww. No, that's German. I like French...it flows.

Je parle francais (un peu, c'est triste), et il est un beau langue. Russe son tres mal, est semblable a...j'en sais pas...comme un peu d'allemand avec un peu du grec et beaucoup du consequence de la mal au coeur.

(Yes, I know, I lack accents. This computer does, as I lack Word atm.)

I'm studying German, hope to minor in it. I'm pretty good at it, I just need to expand my vocab, and cement in those damned adjective endings.

I take frech but I'm an insult to the language, and when I say that I mean it, I am really truely terrible, and I'm not exagerating at all...really.

I took Japanese for seven years... I got -shit- out of it. I know my numbers, a few pretty colors, and thats about it.
I took German once, that was beyond my favorite. I didn't take it for long, but I wouldn't mind teaching it to myself fluently.
I took Spanish, and got nothing at all out of it, even when I lived around spanish neighbors and had a spanish speaking boyfriend... it would've been nice if he could speak english, it might've worked out.
I've taken french three times... So i'm getting pretty good at it... I'm conversational, but that's about it.
German is definitely my favorite, I'd love to finish learning it! :p

Moi, je parle Francais; malheuresement, j'ai oublie le plupart. Though 'Francais' looks weird without the cedilla. No accents on this keyboard!

I've always wanted to learn Welsh ... I really should get around to it. The only word I can say in Welsh is 'beer'. Which would be useful if I wasn't a wine drinker.

Hey, in Shanghai do they speak Mandarin or Cantonese? (Just cos I'm going there soon.)

My main beef with French is all the letters dropped at the end of words.
