They have no particular function in a male, but evolution can't figure out how to get rid of them entirely without also eliminating them in females. Hence, we're stuck with these vestigal nipples.

There is also the fact that we all begin life in the womb without a gender. Whether you become male or female depends on how much testosterone you are exposed to in the womb a few weeks into the pregnancy. So, basically, we all have to have nipples just in case we don't receive much testosterone, and are born female! :p

Um... Close, but technically wrong. We all begin female and masculinze based on the amout of testosterone we are exposed to.
Anyway... The purpose of manboobs & nipples is to add to the proof that we evolved, rather than being the product of Inelegant Designed (TM)
