Ok, heres my idea.

Everyone has electromagtivity flowing through out thier body, most of it in their brain, which holds memories and such. Now then, when a person dies, that electromagtivity doesnt die, since its electromagtivity. So, it is released from the body. That is what a ghost is, just E.M. Why do they wander around places they spent alot of their life in? E.M. holds memories, so they head back to a familiar place so it can feel safe. Now then, if E.M. goes near a newly pregnant mother, it will be absorbed into the new fetus, basiccaly reincarnation. This is because the new fetus has no E.M. This is also why we have Deja Vu, memories that we dont remeber ever happening, because we have the memories of the E.M. that entered our bodies. Also, this explains pyshic powers. They are all done using E.M. People with Pyshic powers have an abnormal amount of E.M., wheter through genetics or something else. Telekines is when a person uses the E.M. to lift an object and move it. Pyrokineses is when a person transforms the E.M. into fire. Telepathy is when a person sends their E.M. into a persons mind, allowing them to communicate via thoughts, and read the persons thoughts. Mind control is when the E.M. is tied to the nervous system, allowing the person to control the body.

So, any questions?

First off, it's an interesting theory, however, "electromagnetivity" or electromagnetic waves which are produced by the movement and interaction of electrons in the brain dissipate when the motion of these charged particles cease (when your dead). Furthermore, these electromagnetic waves do not store memory in any sense of the word, but are produced by the electro chemical reactions in the brain, and take no form capable of storage, but rather radiate continually outwards from the source. Also, electromagnetic waves leave no residue, and do not simply "exit the body" when you die.

I generally think of things like your soul less on the physical world level and more of a spiritual thing that is beyond our physical ways of measuring or even proving it is real.

So that means that we can't have children born in space? Unless someone had died and their EM flew up there and got close to the mother? Hmm...interesting....

I think this is a great explanation if you need a scientific reason for the supernatural in a novel, or something of the sort. I don't actually see any real world evidence for this theory, though.

This is a really interesting explaniation, and I'm glad to have read it. Now, what's your take on the eternal soul being admitted to heaven? JUst wondering, not criticizing.

Exactly, this is a theory that uses science as an explanation (and does a pretty good job). It's not a scientific theory, though.
"scientific theories" are different to normal "theories" and require much more evidence, and it needs to be possible to prove that they are wrong (assuming that evidence they are wrong exists)

You're trying to make some unmistakable things logical, which in this case, might not be correct. Although it is a strong theory, it has some inherent flaws, and I applaud you (for I can't think up of a better one), but perhaps this is something logical science can't explain.
