My mom showed me when I was little a cool little thing you can do on graph paper. I was playing with my graphing calculator in Math today and got reinterested in them. I'm wondering if anyone knows what they are called. I can't think of a good name, but for now I use linear warp. Here is a pic and some interesting things you can do with them. It is sort of like opening a wormhole in space and it is projected on a graph.

About the algebra part. It can be made with a system of equations. I wrote up an 11-equation system.
Well it does appear 3D, but I'm looking for an actual name. Maybe it does not have one...
For some reason, I'm thinking manifolds or some kind of topological property.

I have no idea, but this is my FAVORITE way to waste time in study hall! :p

∀i Є N<j : y = (i-j/i)x + (j-i)
God that first part's a mess. "∀i Є N<j" means that "the following equation is true for all i's that are natural numbers (0,1,2,3,...) less than or equal to some value j."
Am I right? Am I right?
Hm, no clue what they're called.

I do believe those are Moire patterns... or string art. :p
I love making those. The circle's are an illusion; every line on there is a straight line. Also have no idea what they're called.

Well I usually think of it in Math.
EDIT: According to Yahoo! Images (http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=string+art&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-img-t&fl=0&x=wrt) , New Fuglies is correct. They appear to be string art. I'llcheck on wikipedia...
