came across an interesting prediction the other day

The other day, someone sent me the following link. (http://www.rantradio.com/shows/newsreal/download.php?episode=189&bitrate=64)

Now while I do find the show somewhat entertaining, the really interesting thing is at about 7:13, at which point the host reads a letter in which a listener makes a prediction.

The prediction was that the government and news media would use hurricane Rita in order to shift focus away from the screw ups of Katrina. He predicted that the damage caused by Rita and it's successes would be played up, while the damage caused by Katrina and it's failures would be played down. The focus of the public would then be led away from how the government screwed up in the hopes that they would forget, and maby even go on to praise the government for how well it delt with the second hurricane.

Now this in and of it's self is somewhat interesting, but what really makes it noteworthy is that today, when I got up this morning i happened to turn on the tv and check out cnn as I often do (I dont have any particular love of cnn, but it's the only 24hr news channel I get so I usually watch a few minutes in the morning, in order to get some idea of what's going on that day). What they were talking about was how now it seems that the damage reports from NewOrleans after Katrina were all heavely exagerated. What's more is that throughout the rest of the day (or at least what I saw of it) they seemed to talk quite alot about how suprisingly damaging Rita ended up being.

This seems like something to keep an eye on.

That's not surprising at all...

I'm not suprised that is what is happening. That's what I would do if I were in charge.

The coolest prediction I saw was this cat walking down Pacific (the mall street where the tourists go) holding a sign that said-
"Prophecy-Santa Cruz will not be hit by the tsunami"

First time I've seen a non-doom sayer...
