Finally, a car perfectly designed for the Nationstates General political pundit:

It's a car that runs on air. :)

I'm wondering what kind of mileage you can go before you charge it. And now that I think of it, the whole concept is a bit confusing. The motor runs the compressor? So it has a bunch of batteries or what?

It has a 48 volt battery which runs both the electric motor and the compressor. Says it right in the article, dude.

So, I would assume that when you charge it, it's also will fully compress the necessary air before you head out. Probably, like today's hybrids, it'll recharge the battery and compress more air when you're slowing down.

Doesn't that post prove itself wrong in the creation of it?

It says that it's cheaper to build, but what about the running costs?

I'd say so, but I imagine Eutrusca would just say that's because I'm one of those leftists that's full of air. :D

Cool! I like the idea. A car running on air. The politicians will never run out of gas then! :D

So the car uses no fuel, but it still requires a battery to run the electric motor once the car is at cruising speed. How good can they make the battery? How long can it last after being recharged, and how many times can it be recharged?

And it'll still take electricity to charge the battery, which means we spend fossil fuels in electricity plants to charge the battery.

The energy has to come from somewhere, but it sometimes seem like they're fixing one problem and pushing it back to another source.

Sorry, but I'm just imagining when a hole appears in the Compression unit..
