Wild fire. It's bad and there is almost no way to see it coming.

Exactly why I fear wild fire.

Earthquakes. They imact a large area, are unpredicatable, and can hit where you least expect (like the New Madrid earthquake in Missouri). Oh, and they can cause tsunamis along with fires in cities that just had their water mains snapped.

For me it is tornadoes. I live in an area that never has earthquakes. And in a city, same block as fire department, so no fears of wild fire.

Fire.

There's ONE way down the mountain I live on. You can still go up... but it's more wooded the farther up you go.

You have to go over a dam to get out on that road, so it'd be packed with no way to open it up for more traffic.

Asteroids with no doubt about it. Those other ones can be horrible, but any sizable asteroid could wipe out huge amounts of people, as well as render most modern-day technology useless. If I had to pick a natural disaster to hit me, it would be any of those except an asteroid. There is no easy way to survive that one. Clouds of sulfur and dust. Blocking the sun. Clogging the filters of cars and all other vehicles. Getting into all buildings and making them useless. All the dust getting into our water supply making it useless. Those are pretty bad suckas.

I think super volcanoes are one of the biggest threats - if one goes off, it could cause enough ash to enter the atmosphere to block the sun's rays, and create a kind of nuclear winter for the entire world.

With the asteroids one... comets are equally as bad.

A mass of dirty snowball will do as much damage as an equal mass of rock... well, more since the dirty snowball of the same mass will have a larger area.

And the ice will burn up as water vapour in the atmosphere, and water vapour is a greenhouse gas...

Tsunami. Nothing would scare me more than a giant wall of water rising up infront of me before crashing down on my head.

Come on, you have to admit that a nova (or super-nova) trumps 'em all.

But we wouldn't even notice it, we'd walking along doing our daily buisness, then sudenly someone looks up a the sky a goes "Ohhh pretty", then BAM! the afterlife.

Sounds almost exactly like the situation I would be in.
