...Freaky light...thingie....

Colodia

It's about 7:38 here in Southern California. Over the hills behind my house (I think over Anaheim) there is (or was, I think it may have disappeared by now) this weird light occurance in the sky.

Keep in mind it is almost completely dark here. Only two colours in the sky are black and dark blue.

It looks like a line down the clouds (a long one mind you) with different colors as the line goes down. Starting with white, blue, and down to orange and red. Not all the rainbow colors were apparent.

After a couple minutes the line kind of got messed up and split, red side on one side and the blue side toward another. The blue side kind of went into a loop and on the top of the loop you could see the colors of the rainbow coming out of the blue line.

What the hell?

Aurora Borealis really far south?
Kinda Sensible people

Probably an effect caused by the insane amount of smog in the air in that region.

Sounds a bit like the Aurora Borealis. Maybe the wierd weather patterns we've been having lately have been causing it?

If people like me tuned into life, I can freakin promise you I'd be a hell of a lot less pleasant.

Besides.....if the BBC isn't reporting on Aurora Borealis over here in the States ('cos sorry if you're loyal to our new companies, but I prefer an outside source), chances are I'd just be staring at it going ".....fecking weather balloons....."

What the hell?

They launched a satellite via rocket from Vandenberg.

As for the colors, my guess is atmospheric interference aka smog. Conspiracy theorists however are sure it was poison being released to kill people or something to do with UFOs, or both.
