It has yet to hit Africa or Latin America, but most experts agree that it is coming. “Given today’s modes of travel, there’s almost no doubt that it will hit the major Cavendish crops,” says Randy Ploetz, the University of Florida plant pathologist who identified the first Sumatran samples of the fungus.

There is a serious side to this. ALL bananas are FEMALE. Somewhere in the past all the male bananas died off. Because of this bananas can't adapt. They depend wholly on humans to survive. A disease could easily kill the bananas. Their only hope would be human genetic engineering.

Apart from the fact that you are plainly incapable of answering a direct question, it is quite obvious to anyone with a rudimentary education that this is not an argument ad hominem. Again, your thoughts lack any logical consistency. I never suggested that if someone disagrees with my "bogus" sources - amongst them slate magazine - they must be mentally impaired. I am simply asking whether or not I have in the past accused you of the very self-same things you have of which you have accused me. (Though doubtless you will deny that any of those things were said).

In fact, in your earlier disscussion with me - which you obliquely reference here - quite the opposite was true. You accused me of drug use and having no credibilty for posting those sources. Not a single time in any post you have made to me have you ever addressed or refuted a specific point that has been raised. You ignore them, and choose instead to indulge in infantile name calling. I am respectful of people, I don't belittle them, nor do I try to "score" points at their expense, which is in sharp contrast to the way you have treated me.

You have constistently posted sly and sneering accusations about my character, and repeatedly called my credibility into question. Now, Mesa knows that we had our fair share of unpleasantness too. I think I made it on his ignore list twice. But that doesn't mean I don't respect his ability.
In the few times when he does engage into a serious argument, he does it well. The guy is not stupid! It's just that he seems to let his emotions get the better of him a few times too many, and once that happens, he becomes completely inaccessible to anything you say, and the ridiculousness of it all doesn't seem to matter anymore.
If that happens, you just need to keep your cool, either walk away from the PC for a few minutes, or simply don't respond to any accusations that you think are unreasonable.

I'd like to think that Mesa's apology was sincere, and that he was serious when he said he'd be more balanced in the future. That isn't going to happen from one day to the next, especially if some grudges still aren't buried.
Think of it as a statement of intent, and try not to deliver reasons for him to lose it.
