Every time I think I have a good idea for a thread, I start writing it, only to realize about half way through that instead of promoting rational discussion, I am simply laying the groundwork for yet another flame-war.

Granted, most threads here eventualy degrade to that point, but damnit, mine would do so in about half a page...although not intentionally.

Anybody else have this problem often?? :p

thats one of the reasons i've pretty much given up trying to come up with threads... nowadays i'll only post a new one if i get suitable inspiration, wich means less often of course

Yeah...makes sense.

I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if I liked coming up with fun, game-like threads, but mostly all I like to do is post interesting questions on specific serious issues...

...that seems to be the main problem. :)

Most of my potential new threads just get scrapped when I realize that the only reason that I am making them is either:

To make penis jokes or obscure movie/TV references in the first post or
To set people up so that I can make a bunch of cheap jokes about them and/or reference obscure movies/TV shows

Then I delete the post, shutdown the computer and go back to watching the Turist Omer movie franchise.

Just post them with a disclaimer attached, so you don't get accused of flame-baiting/trolling. Then sit back and watch the mayhem unfold.
Please note: I do not condone or recommend this sort of activity...though it would be funny.

Mine wind up vanishing from the pages people check very quickly... :( I wish I had your problem...
