Of the ones I've seen live and in person I liked Lewis Black best. Followed closely by Dave Attel and Dave Chapelle.

He was pretty funny, but the one time I saw him he was so trashed he couldn't do his act properly. He tried to do the same joke three times during his act.

ditto. I know it's going to sound dumb coming from a Christian, but a lot of his really funny jokes could be repeated in mixed company and didn't really put anyone down. He had a clean humor that was just as hilarious the first time I heard it as it is now. I really will miss him. :(
