Michael Campbell NZ Golfer

The boy from Titahi Bay in Porrirua, Wellington, who made it big.
Porrirua which is about 15-20 mins drive from where I live, is regarded as the roughest part of Wellington. Just down the road from Titahi Bay is Cannons Creek, which is renowned for it's violence and particulalry tough nature. I guess Cannons Creek is Wellingtons closest thing to a "ghetto", although shootings are not often.
How perfect it is then, that a Titahi Bay boy should win the US Open and the World Match Play Championship. I'm not so sure about his upbrining, but it would have been very modest. To succeed like he has, shows that against the odds, great things can happen.
As far as I'm concerned, as LOTR was fantastic for NZ's image and tourism, Michael Campbell has showed we're not just a nice country with pretty sheep and nice scenery, oh no. Despite our size we too can produce top quality athletes who can excell at the highest level.
Presidents Cup, watch out, the New Zealander is on his way.

We consider him an Australian.

Oz always tries to claim our best bands and talent, so we've decided to concede one celeb to you. Take him.

I believe so. He "was". He now appears to have the title of an Australian.

Not all, but a lot of our celebs and atheletes are imported.
We have lots of ex-Russians in our sport as Aussies.

I'm imported too, sorry, I'm a legal migrant. :)

Technically, but Aussie is welcome to that big-headed blowhard. Anyone who can get smacked over by Eric Watson (who looks like he'd barely weighs 60kilos soaking wet) doesn't deserve to be called a Kiwi!
Actually maybe that's not a bad way of sorting immigration...
An extra point on your immigration if you can upset Russell Crowe and have him throw a phone (or just spit his dummy) at you. No extra points awarded if you smack him down, unless you weigh under 50kgs or are over 70 (just to give him a chance).
