Since nobody else has said this, I will ...
Is there a source for this other than internet forums/bloggers?
I'm just not finding it.
http://www.sweetness-light.com/archive/camp-casey-fires-lawyers-lawyers-say-100k-missing/I would question the veracity of anything posted by an obvious pseudonym on a site of that format. And what are they trying to say with this? The following was posted at the modern-day Bedlam, Democrats Underground. It has since been disappeared, which only further validates its authenticity:What kinda of bullshit is that? If I "found" a source that said Bush was in fact lying when he made his speeches on WMDs in Iraq, and said source "magically disappeared", would that make it more valid?

I'll agree that just becasue the source "magiacally disappeared" doesn't make the statement valid.
However, I do know the person who made the posts at the Democrat Underground and at Democracy Now. He is in contact with the Spells, knows them personally and was himself, until recently, a cooridnator for the VFP Katrina Relief Effort and a moderator at that organization's message board.
The Spells, who live outside of NO in Covington, currently have limited access to the interent and told their side of the story to Brendan via phone who then posted that info at the Democrat Underground and Democracy Now forums.
I myself have written a letter to the VFP organization and qouted the comments and allegations made in that article. If they reply, I'll post it here as to what they say, if anything, about it.
At this time, I don't think there was any actual fraud involved but do believe there was and remains considerable incompetence and mismanagement as to VFP's efforts in the Gulf states region. They may be good at protesting but are in way over their head when trying to operate a hurricane disaster relief organization. Some volunteers who went down there in good faith to help out have now attatched themselves to other groups while others who volunteered are stuck down there with no place to stay and have no means of returning to their homes.
