Most brilliant set of history books ever devised. Much worshipping of Larry Gonick.

Ever heard of them? Ever read them? Got thoughts?

I got volumes 1 and 2 in 1995, when I was ten. I credit Gonick with my love of history, and if I hadn't read them, I'd be a very different person today.

I still have both of them, but they bear the dog-ears & small rips that denote a much-loved book. On a side note, I heard there's a vol. 3 out there. I want it so badly.

I borrowed the first two from a friend in '97 or so, aged 9, and would attribute a lot of my ancient historical knowlege to Gonick.

I got all three for a birthday two years back, and greeted them like old friends. Three is good, but leaves you wanting more.

I actually had them on a set of CDs, with games and stuff. I think I lost the CDs somewhere at home and I doubt they would run on my current computer anyway. Pity.

I think Cartoon History of the Universe was what drove me to choose Anthropology as my college major, because it got me so interested in the development of human culture.
