Words of Wisdom We Should All Reflect On
I recently heard this one from a friend of mine, and I think it quite pertinent to this forum:
"Arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics - even if you win, you're still retarded."
How incredibly insightful, and respectful of people with intellectual disabilities.

Actually, that is a simple statement of fact.
If you compete in the Special Olympics, you are "some-PC-version-of-
retarded" (assuming it's the intellecually-challenged variety of the Special
Olympics).
If you win, you are indeed STILL in the same condition.
This is why I don't argue. Especially on the Internet..!
I have no interest in convincing anyone of anything. I do it for only simple
masterbatory reasons, in that it gives me a place to harmlessly disgourge my
excess mental effluvium, and use words like "effluvium", without being
laughed at by anyone I give a fig about..!! :)
Have a lovely day..!!

Endless arguing is good: it teaches us that conflict has no end besides the end of all creation.
.......and use words like "effluvium"......
1. A usually invisible emanation or exhalation, as of vapor or gas.
2.a. A byproduct or residue; waste.
b. The odorous fumes given off by waste or decaying matter.
3. An impalpable emanation; an aura.

"Live and Let Live" is my moto as wel as "Do unto others..." yadda yadda...
Seems though not many americans are willing to do that. If you are even one inch out of the orinary in any direction they slam you for it and for no good reason. I wonda why, must be an ego thing.

So... What you are trying to say... Is... Is that the next time I'm in an argument I... I must destroy the universe!
I feel enlightened.
The assumption being made here that competing in the Special Olympics has no value because it does not cure one of one's intellectual disabilities. Hmm...that's about as useful as saying, "arguing on the internet is like competing in the Tour de France...even if you win, your bad case of herpes still remains".
Sigh...let me clear this up: I'm not making fun of people with physical/mental disabilities, I'm making fun of people who get all worked up over arguments on the internet, which I think are even nastier and more pointless than most other kinds of arguments.
For the record, I grew up living next door to a girl who had serious physical and mental disabilities, and I also did volunteer work at a school for developmentally delayed children (their term, not mine). I am not a bigoted, insensitive bitch (that's right, I'm female - there seems to be some confusion about that too, but that's my fault).
Perhaps I should have tried to modify this joke so it would be less offensive, but I don't think any alternatives would have worked either.
It's a joke, people. Don't take it at face value.

i guessed that. but you oughta know that this joke's all over the internet. maing many people having added very negative meanings to it..just be careful how to use it.
in order to make it more clear what i mean, look at the pic galloism provided (and that i usually connected with this joke). that one really is offensive.
i dunno if any of you ever watched the special olympics, but they're a great wonderful thing and the people in there are so incredible.. just be careful on how you say such things.

I agree completely, and find offensive the implication that the endeavours of the mentally challenged are futile.

If anything, they are usually overcoming a bigger challenge by simply competing.

Yeah,.. that's about right..! :)
Good threads die young, but pointless threads echo through eternity.
