So my teacher gave us an assignment to write a paper with only one syllable in each word. As a communist, I decided to write a poem about the evils of capitalism (I know I'm not being literal in the poem, it's obviously exagerated).
So anyway... What do you think of it and did you find any words with more than one syllable (excluding the title).
Capitalist Wasteland
I walk the lost streets of my home. They are sad, once great but now wrecked. I see my kin in chains. They have no life left in them. They toil all day to live on. Their tears flood these once great streets. The land shakes in fear of the dark force sent out by sin. It is a dog eat dog world here.
I turn to watch the man drive by in a black car. His greed has no end. He spits on the earth, now a dark hole of murk. The sky turns gray, as if it knows whom the man is. The man stands above us all, he stands so high he shuts out all of our screams. While we starve and rot, he does naught but fill his need for wealth. He is a curse on the earth. His reign has plagued us all for years and may do so for more.
All hope is not lost. In the end, we will choose our own fate. Our dreams will be met, and we will be in high state of mind. The streets will once more be great. We will fight this dark force with our minds. Light shall hit the earth once more, and we will be warmed by its love. Our chains will leave us, and the black stain put on the earth by the vice of greed will too be gone. So take to the streets once more my kin! We have a world to win!
