Bravo!

No, not the cheer ... the network.

What happened to Bravo?!

Just a few years ago it was mostly James Lipton and Indie Films and all manner of the best television in America ....

Now it's "Battle of the Network Reality Stars" and "Celebrity Poker"!!!

Is there no solace from the drudgery of mundanity any more? Where is my intellectual television, damnit! Isn't intellectual stimulation enumerated in the Constitution or, at least, by proxy established with the 9th amendment?

I am seriously contemplating throwing my TV out with Wednesday's garbage and going back to just reading books.

Damn you, Bravo! Damn you!

Americans seem to enjoy all reality shows. Whoever started them needs to die slowly and painfully. Truthfully though I've never watched Bravo! so...

I noticed this too. Haven't watched the Bravo channel in three or four years now for that reason... AMC still has a few good movies on occasion, but not normally "indie" movies, not that I'm that big on indies.

You think us Americans like having a new reality show crammed down our tubes every month? You make me laugh!

Hey I adore AMC. True movies from when true movies were made. What I mean here is ... well .... imagine AMC showing "Dude, Where's My Car?"

I would never advise reading books! C.O.M.A

just watch Tom and Jerry, spongbob squarepants and maybe a rather unhealthy dose of paramount

To be honest, living in England I'm sick of the non-stop cramming of crap like Big Brother, The Farm and Celebrity Love Island down our throats. You no it's got to stop when the people on them are 'famous' simply for knowing/being related to a b list celebrity!

May come as a shock, I know ... but I actually don't! Now ... I don't mind playing poker ... but watching celebrities do it on TV is just ... well ... wrong somehow.

Hey, our TV stations keep spitting them out so I guess our fellow people like them. I can't see how they are interesting but new Survivor and Big Brother seasons keep coming out and that Fear Factor show is really nauseating.

I think we should invade the UK and eat their leaders. Reality TV started there, then we'll burn down Bravo!, NBC, CBS, ABC, TBN, TNT, MTV, C-SPAN, CNN, Fox, and others. Reality TV that involves any manner of people living in house in the "real world" or living on an island must be destroyed.
Cannot think of a name

That's the AMC of old. Once they started running ads the C became questionable. Then it was simply American Movie that was the requirement to get on the channel. I wish I had a good example to prove this, but peruse their schedule I'm sure you'll find a movie that you will question it's status as a "Classic."

Then one night they played "Frankenstien Conquers the World" (supposed to have been "Godzilla vs. Frankenstien"....serious, look it up on imdb.com) which wasn't even American.

Not that I mind foriegn films, especially when we're talkin' 'bout Godzilla movies and thier clones, but the mission of that channel has shifted enough that the name is off.

bravo got bought by NBC who quickly realized that there is no money in highbrow entertainment. so we are left with the name and in reality it is "stuff that nbc couldnt put on its regular schedule"

the same thing has happened to A&E and AMC
