A Major Problem!!!

Okay, I recently read this petition, and the problem it points out really worries me. To some of you, you'll quickly realize that I'm being really sarcastic. Tell me what you all think!!

The Invisible Killer

"Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidentaly inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dpendent, DHMO withdrawal means certain deat.

Dihydrogen monoxide:

Is also known as hydroxyl acid, and is the major part of acid rain.
May cause severe burns
Contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape
Accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals
May cause electrical failures and decreased effectivness of auto brakes
Has been found inexcised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

Contamination is reaching epidemic proportions!

Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contamination has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage in the Midwest and recently California

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

As an industrial solvent and coolant
In nuclear power plants
In the production of Styrofoam
As a fire retardant
In many forms of cruel animal research
In the distribution of pesticides; even after wasing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical
As an additive in certain "junk foods" and other food products.

Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wild life is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer!

The Horror Must Be Stopped."

And no, this is not the conservatives' fault.

This is the one that really gets me
Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America
which streams lakes and resevoirs HASN'T it been found in, because I thought there was considerable amounts of DHMO in every body of water in the world.

Ack! that stuff's that nasty!? I drank some pure DHMO we made in science yesterday!!. . . It wasn't much, so i should be okay, right?

Oh the joys of makiong DHMO... it bubbles a lot when you heat it up, and it can dissolve things! i saw it dissolving a polo mint when we heated it!

I saw the petition, I saw the number of people who signed up to stop it... when the pen was in my hand, I... I couldn't sign it... for as deadly and dangerous this stuff is, I can't live without it... I'm addicted to the stuff. I would die if they took it away from me.

I'm ingesting some as I read this thread right now!

I'm so weak... :(

It's terrible. Science and politics usually don't match very good but there's got to be something to stop DHMO's influence on our daily lives.

I just found out that large quantities can even be found in orange juice or milk!!!
Come on, milk?!? That's disgusting. And I thought milk was supposed to be good for you!!!

(Won't even tap into breast-milk and what DHMO can do to babies...)

Yeah, I've seen several petitions like this, but this takes the cake for stupidest.

India has a real problem every year with this, same with China and Japan. Let's get a petition going to increase foregin aid to these areas!!!

and filter companies like Brita knows that their filter systems cannot even begin to remove DHMO's in the drinking water so they don't even metion it. they never say it removes 100% of all harmful chemicals, because they know it can't.

(Won't even tap into breast-milk and what DHMO can do to babies...)You know, the former GDR is having problems with it's pipe systems that normally got cleaned by DHMO. Due to the reduced amount of people using it for their everyday needs (sick, isn't it :p ) the pipes don't get cleaned properly...

So, then the govt. can't get them on false advertising. Too bad. But you're right about "Pure Bottled Water"! They can get sacked on that cause they can't take out the DHMO!!!

DHMO is just water. Plain old and simple water. It's better known as H2O.

Fool?, of course it's water, and yes, I heard of it before.

Dihydrogen monoxide=2H 1O=H2O

But heavy water is also H2O, but the health department says heavy water should be considered toxic since that extra two neutrons can be dangerous in large quantities.

No, I don't get the sarcasm. (IT's difficult when you read it) If you don't get it, the REAL problem is that people can't interpret scientific writing too well. It's complaining against plain water.

Oh Crap!! NOt beans!!! Then you haven't heard!! Beans contain a deadly chemical known as methane!!! Inhalation of this substance is deadly, as is contact with it. I can't begin to explain what happens with ingestion of it!!!

Symptoms:

Unusual smells
Unusual noises
Unusual comments
Unusual getting up and leaving you alone-ness

IT's just deadly, and can cause cancer!!!!!111!!!shift+1!!
