Would I happen to be the only person with a habit of meeting old crushes or girlfriends and finding the experiance either refreshing or thoroughly embarressing?

I can equate to that for sure! After I got married, my first long term realationship (I was sixteen, she was 19) wanted to meet me at a bar to "relive old times" As tempted as I was, I could never do that to my wife.
(but I sure did daydream a bit! :D )

do elaborate, I'd like to get to know people on nation states a little betterMy exes and crushes don't usually live in the same place I do anymore since they either went to the same school that I did or I met them when I'd left Berlin. My school is pretty much an Embassy and High Achiever school with the name being a good ticket to most good universities in the US and Britain, which explains why my exes and crushes from my school days have long since moved somewhere else.

That sucks then, but at least you get to make new starts every so often

That sucks then, but at least you get to make new starts every so oftenIt helps when trying to avoid them and the distance saves some relationships that would have turned into mutual or one-sided loathing, as my current relationship has. We go to the same University so I haven't been able to get out of her way very much, resulting in a deep inner feeling of loathing for her...
