Chavez: U.S. Plans to Invade Venezuela
AP - Sat Sep 17, 7:24 AM ET
WASHINGTON - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Friday he has documentary evidence that the United States plans to invade his country. Chavez, interviewed on ABC's "Nightline," said the plan is called "Balboa" and involves aircraft carriers and planes. A transcript of the interview was made available by "Nightline." He said U.S. soldiers recently went to Curacao, an island off Venezuela's northwest coast. He described as a "lie" the official U.S. explanation that they visited Curacao for rest and recreation.

I wonder if the "documentary" was directed by Micheal Moore?

Wierd. However, most S. American socialists can be forgiven for a certain amount of paranoia.

Like I said on Godlike Productions report of this, normally I would pass this off as Chavez being a few fries short of a Happy Meal, but we are talking about a government (US) that has threatened militarily capable countries (Iran) while having its troops stretched too thin in two other countries and that drafted up the idea for a nuclear first strike.
I wonder if the "documentary" was directed by Micheal Moore?
Troll much?

Although I believe it's POSSIBLE that there are "plans", I think that if we were going to invade, we wouldn't send freakin troops out in the open for all to see. He would never see it coming. We only announce ourselves when it suits us. Like in Iraq, most people seem to forget that we announced ourselves months ahead of time, hoping to avoid the whole damn thing.. All that was needed for the war to never have been was for Saddam to leave his country and give it back to the people.
If we were going after Chavez, it would be a bomb, I'm quite sure. And it would be blamed on rebels of some sort or another.

Exactly, we should never underestimate the underhanded evilness in the way the US operates, especially when trying to assassinate Latin American officials.

Fixed it for you. If you don't want to get knocked off, don't live in a country where offing your rulers is considered chique and popular. If you want to live, don't piss off the USA or make us tire of your incessant blame game "The US poisoned my donkey burger so I am impotent!"

You're kidding, right? The Dept. of Defense has more scenarios than you can possibly imagine, covering almost every contingency imaginable by the mind of mian. When I was an Instructor at the JFK Special Warfare School, Fort Bragg, NC, and still had my security clearance, I got a chance to read a number of them and read the titles of many more. Since it's been many, many years, I don't think it would hurt to share just one of them with you, especially since it's no longer even remotely likely:
A protacted economic, and sometimes shooting war goes on for years in SE Asia between Japan/Taiwan on one side and China on the other. Both sides begin to run out of oil and one or both send an expeditionary force to Venezuela to capture the oil fields there. The US responds by a three-pronged counter strike via air, sea, and overland through Brazil, to prevent either Japan or China, or both, from moving North. Cuba attacks the American forces as invaders, but is thoroughly trounced in the Gulf of Mexico.
It went on from there, but you get the general idea.

Quite true. Being a socialist in S America is ... hazardous to one's health when America catches notice.

Why are you people still discussing the delusions of a megalomaniac? Venezuela can't even meet its own oil quotas. The US is not going to invade Venezuela. Any suggestions are ridiculous. Why would we invade someone who is probably going to self destruct anyways?

Good stuff Eut...
they need to work on the "Titles" though..."Balboa" sounds...you know...boring, used(like an old Rocky movie)
they need to get advice from Hollywood name makers...and sexy-up the code-names for the plans...If you know what I mean. ;) :D :D
