what should we do about the after affects of our weapons on the population take the example of Gulf war I were we used depleted uranium which is now causing birth defects?

source (warning horrible images): http://www.uksociety.org/us_crimes_against-humanity_1.htm

what I think? I don't know what we can do because we can't blame all the birth defects on us yet we can't just leave the kids to grow in hate of what we did the best I can think is an apology and if you look at all are previous wars I think sorry might be the best remedy we have (though if they can prove it was us compensation would be a fair thing to do)

(this isn’t America bashing after all we Brits can’t escape all the blame)

I'm not convinced that depleted uranium is all that dangerous. Sure it's a heavy metal, but most of it was used in areas away from large populations, and the stuff's so mildly radioactive that it's safe to handle.
