Bury a band...

OK, we all have those bands who we can't stand. Whether it's too much guitar noodling, self-righteous piano fiddling and wailing or the fact that they sold you out. This is your chance to bury a band.

My nomination: Nirvana.

It's so fashionable to hate a band for the way their fans act, rather than for the way the band itself acts.

My choice: Blink 182. Oh, wait, they're already dead.

Urgh I agree with the nomination.

And by the way, I hate Nirvana because their lyrics are up the wall and the guitar playing is terrible.

Since Phish is already gone and gets no airplay I'll nominate Led Zeppelin because I'm tired of hearing the same old songs on the radio.

I agree Nirvana albums should be buried with toxic waste with its crappy whining and terrible guitar (it will fit right in with a green protest :p )

but Blink 182 comes second for being....rubbish

does trance, dance and hip hop count? in which case I will need a bulldozer!

say nirvana suck ass to a 14 year old they get nutty but then calm down realising they can't do anything to you :p

Ever listened to 'In Utero' or 'MTV Unplugged in New york'?

Awesome albums. Nermind wasn't brilliant. In Utero was.

Unplugged was astounding.

You probably only hate them because they're 'popular', and you haven't given them a proper go, because they're the 'cool' band to hate.

Bands born from TV casting shows. (You won't know the bands I'd list, since this luckily seems to be limited to the afflicted nation)

Which album? Bleach? Nevermind? In Utero? Unplugged? From the Muddy Banks of the Wiskah? Nirvana?

Each is very different from any of the others.

In Utero was self pitying garbage. Nevermind was ok for an album which ripped off the Pixies.

Mind you, they were ok when i saw them in '89.

i would like to see funeral for a friend to end.

but i have a quick question about some of the bands mentioned, namely led zepplin and pink floyd. You say you would like to bury them but just wondering wat the reason for it was and if you respect them for what they achieved or dont respect them because you dont like the music?

If you're going to say you don't like a band without giving a good reason then expect to be probed.

Nevermind, eh?

That explains it. Go buy Bleach or In Utero. Or Unplugged.

They should have ended after their 7 track Seven Ways To Scream Your Name. Their first EP (Between Order and Model) and that were very good. Their first album was just a rehash of some of the songs from the previous releases, and some new stuff which was well below par.
