It would be, if you "used to be damned". And "damnes", not "condamnes", and some others. Didn't have time to check the exact text you needed translated, I just did my best to correct the one already posted.

It's true that French was once the language of high class people and diplomats, but that was a long time ago. It's not like French has a booming economy with lots of exports, that would be Germany, therefore making Germany a much more important language to learn.

As a side note, I've never EVER seen a country more willing to defend their language more than their actual country or citizens! :D :D :) :p
