Yeah, don't try to deny it -- we all do it: visualize other NSers when replying to one of their posts. At least, I know I do it. So that counts. Anyway, how do you imagine other NSers as they look, act, believe, etc. IRL?

You know, now that you mention it I'm probably something of an oddity in this regard. I generally don't devise mental images of people I meet on the web unless I talk to them regularly and continuously, like in IRC or some other chat medium. Typically, if I'm interested in figuring out what someone else looks like, I'll check the NS player profiles, but that doesn't happen often. If they're not on there, I just shrug and ignore the issue.

I've always imagined that LG lives with a traveling circus. He didn't run away and join them, they ran away and joined him.

I picture every poster on NS as a giant malformed blob with dozens of heads, hundreds of arms, and this one tentacle that continually is tapping out beats for reasons that no one ccan fathom. Each poster is one of the heads, of course, and the entire entity is surrounded by computer terminals, so that most of the heads can be online. Oh yeah, and the blob is a veiny rotting sort of purple.
I don't know why, but I have similar ideas about every message board I have ever posted on, I am just surrounded by genetic experiments, and it is kind of creeping me out.

Um… thanks to Balipo telling us he has a beard, I now think of him as looking like a cross between Fritz Haber and Sigmund Freud.

I used to think Cabra West was pale and with red hair, for some strange reason.

Here's some odd Bottle trivia for y'all...I have synesthesia. What this means is that I experience a very vivid color sensation when I see letters, numbers, and words. As a result, I don't have mental images of NationStates players, but I do have "colors" for them. For instance, Lunatic Goofballs is a smear of golden yellow with dark purple bleeding in around the edges.

yeah, synethesia is cool. basically it's having additional sensations when one sense is stimulated. like us, with the colors. some folks smell different smells when seeing a color ( i do it the other way round). there is nearly every combination of any two or more senses..but the one with color is the most comon one.

If you haven't seen me on the pic thread, I must be fearful as to how people picture me. They probably see me as an extremely dark skinned person who wears Black Panther Party stuff and goes around saying extremeist things such as "I'm gonna go outside and paint as much of the snow black as I possibly can." :p
