Seems to me the "but other polls are higher!" crowd is losing steam. Now all that's left are the "the polls are wrong" and the "polls are meaningless in the 2nd term, Bush can do whatever he wants!" crowds.

I know you're being snarky, but while it will have little effect on him personally, I have hopes that he'll be a drag on the congressional elections in 2006, and that maybe, just maybe, the republican congresspeople will try to save their own asses and stop passing some of his stupid-ass legislation.

They're not high hopes, mind you--just hopes.

You know, it was cute when you posted that in response to the first thread like this that showed Bush down in the low 40s and high 30s, but now there's been at least 4 that have him in this range. Face it--Rasmussen is the outlier now, and your precious Bush is in a world of shit.

Most polls show he is in the mid-40s. Not high 30s. Those are the outliers. Furthermore, your argument isn't very well formulated. You harp on about these polls. My precious Bush? OH NICE ONE with the little character attack. Rasmussen was one of the only pollsters right about the 2004 election. In fact they were dead on. Maybe you should be posting polls of likely voters, not people who would sit on their butts when it comes to election day.

The only people in a world of shit is the democratic party. As far as I'm concerned, the democratic party is in disarray.

I'm wondering about you dems... why do you harp on about polls anyways? At least get one with a working sample based on likely voters.

Notice, by concentrating on the one with likely voters, you only care about the politics of this, not how the average person feels.

Also, note that Rasmussen also admits that polling likely voters should only make a difference of 2-3%.

Therefore, even taking that 2-3% into account, Rasmussen is a fairly extreme outlier.

Finally, I clearly remember the poster of the Rasmussen poll warning of the dangers of depending on just one poll...want me to dig it up?

well if you can't understand how wrong it is to cite statistics with bad samplings... well.. then you should continue on. I'm wondering... how many of those beloved pollsters were right about the 2004 Elections? Even a Fox poll said that Bush was going to lose by what.. 7% if I remember right?

Gymoor, same goes to you. Again, Rasmussen is a very good pollster and the only one right about the 2004 election. so who am I to believe? Some polls that you people harp about? Some polls that are traditionally wrong?

You have to get your own personal satisfaction elsewhere. I mean it seems you get more of it from this then say from masturbation. It is quite.. uh... disturbing.

So what's it like being a willing whole-hearted mouthpiece for the party which openly caters to the religious nutjobs who'd like to put you in a camp?

What's sad is how Bush is given a blank check by the current population of the US for committing all sorts of hind-sighted retardation whereas a Democrat getting a blowjob in the Oval Office gets the Nuremburg treatment.

Oh, and Mesa...just a bit of an observation...no one poll is correct. Perhaps your favorite pollster was correct on the election. One accurate poll means nothing. There are many polls that place bush in the 30's. It should be taken into account that they are reliable polls in general, and that while their results may be low, others may be high. Perhaps one poll spoke to mostly non-bush supporters and one spoke to mostly bush supporters. It happens, even with random polling. As I started out with, no one poll is correct. Look at them all and make judgements based off that. I'm sure we can all agree that in general, these numbers mean very little besides the fact that there are alot of pissed off people (by either poll, his approval is still below 50%, if I am not mistaken)

So you harp on one poll, oblivious to what every other says, because that poll was the one that predicted the 2004 election? Grand. Do you only watch Fox News too, because Fox gave Bush Florida in 2000?

Face it, the 2004 election was anybody's game as far as predictions went. A proper prediction there doesn't equate to squat except luck. Take into account that Rasmussen was right - in both senses of the word - and you might realize that it could also be a representation of bias that they got the 2004 election dead on.

You are nothing more then extremist partisans with an agenda, and you do not speak for the people.

Says the person relying on one poll that only takes into account voters, not the entire populace.

Wow, they got 2004 elections right. We all see how one prediction leads to more correct ones, looking at how many long-correct predictions were shattered in 2004, from previous elections.

Predicting an election really doesn't mean shit. And only polling voters for public opinion on something? Its an inaccurate poll.

Regardless, you refuse to listen to multiple polls that have bush in the low fourties/high thirties, and harp on one poll. As well, I would be much more willing to trust an AP poll than the one you keep bringing up.

Btw, if you don't want to be considered right wing, republican, etc etc, you might want to drop your die-hard defense of bush. Regardless of how you feel, you are presenting a defense where you refuse to listen to opposition, harp on a tiny bit of evidence opposed by much more evidence, and simply lash out at those who disagree with you. Ignoring people as you are just makes you look even more un-willing to debate things.
