I read my regular newspaper today and found a article in it mentioning that the Wiesenthal Centre has a operation since early 2005, named: "Last chance on Heim".
Guess you all have read this in your newspapers to.
I will try to translate the headline in the article that I read in my Belgian newspaper and my French one (De Morgen and Le Monde).
German police thinks that they know where he is now, after a founding of a 1 million € account at a Berlin Bank.
.......I'll give some English links here, to difficult to translate that all when I see that there are Anglosaxon papers to that mention it to now.
In short, (can't translate all the 100 lines), I'll try to give the brief translation from a Belgian newspaper "De Morgen" of 14 september 2005 (read it also in Le Monde two weeks ago)
""He worked as a medic in Mauthausen for only 7 few weeks. He is searched for the killing of a few hundreds of "patients", killing them by lethal operations, such as amputating, removal of organs, injections of deadly poissons aso.
After the war, he was arrested by "allied troops" (sorry they aren't specific enough here) but he was released without a trial. In 1948 he setled at Bad Nauheim, near Franfurt, 6 years later he moved to Baden Baden, where he started as a gynecologist. In 1962, the German justice departement wanted to interogate him again, but after a leak that reached him, Heim disapered again. Since then, he was searched. Last years he was signalised at the Spanish east-coast and on Ibiza.
The Wiesenthal Centre in Jeruzalem asked the Austrian goverment last month to redraw his medical title, but Viena said that the law makes such thing impossible. Last friday, the Wiesnthal Center asked the Austrian ministre of jusice to put a prize of 130.000€ on his head, like Germany did for information leading to Heim's place. The Wiesenthal Centre is not happy with the recent leaks to the press, they fear that Heim will find shelter again.""
No grades or links to what unit he belonged where mentioned in the articles.
Some of you specialist know more about this?
Thank you in advance,
(sorry for the bad English, did my best)
