Which age group should be in power?

Yes, this is probably the most bizarre things you've ever been asked on NS, but I'm a bizarre person, so expect it a lot from me. Anywho, see poll that should be up any minute.

I believe that teens and old people should rule. The middle-agers always restrict everything when we extremes want to have fun.

Based on the stuff I've heard from some of my fellow college students, definetly noone younger than 28 should have a say, maybe 35, or maybe just not allow people in college any power. I think the best complaint was when someone said that the National Guard going to Iraq and the (I believe) $10,000 of his own cash was nothing, and that what would really make a difference was if he joined his fellow attention whores in politics and got on his hands and knees in the mud looking for photo oppurtunities and generally getting in the way.

I think I should rule. So 18 :D

But seriously, I reckon my mates would do MUCH better at running the world than anyone else (Okay, the beer taxes would be non existant and lets not get into the lack of drugs laws :P, and if you dont like public hangings for everything more serious than burglary....dont vote for me :D)

I'd like to see toddlers do it . It would crack me up. But they have to be potty trained. New rule...to rule you must not shit in your pants . other then that how much different would it be ?

I'd say the 31-death group should have the power. They tend to display more wisdom and prudence in their decisions, as opposed to the younger individuals who tend to think emotionally and jump to conclusions. This isn't always the case, but it can be said in general IMO.

31-70. By that point (most) people will have wised up from any silly ideas they had during HS and college and use common sense to run things.

Some people stay hippie and grow old, though, and they're some of the coolest of them. In my city we've got multiple generations of hippies passing on hippiness (and weird names) to their offspring.

People always use the term, "the youth of today create the future". Why not use this term literally? Like seriously like as if a 90 year old who can't even get up a 44 year old going through a mid life crisis cannot run a country. Let the problems with their age coming through with sexual and emotional downfalls. As for all Hitler lived the high life in power in Nazi Germany as he masturabated and had sex with many women especially when they were whacking him.

The problem also is that people think that we are inadquate and video games play with our minds. Well they do before video games I was an able bodied lover of Abraham Lincoln. Yet now Hitler and Mussolini have tainted my democractic ways.

When surgeons say that you should not go under anthesthtic as you could die just go under it anyway as I'd rather die a young man than a old ruler who can get a hard on.

This forum question has made me think that I cannot lead a politicial coup like Lenin and Trotsky with the Bolshevik manhoares did. But oh well as long as Spock and the crew keep coming back to haul ass and Doctor Who keeps destroying rifts in time I will be happy? Half Heartedly.

Only us old farts should be in charge. We have the wisdome of the ages, lousy memories, and won't be in power as long as a young dude. If you don't like something we do you won't have to vote us out of power or overthrow us. All you will have to do is wait a short time for us to die. :D

Preferrably the 30-50 age group. They've lived enough to know what the real world is like, have lost most of their unrealistic versions of what the world "should" be like, yet are still young enough to realize that change is not necessarily a bad thing.

I say that only those 125+ should be allowed to rule. Only then do they have the combination of the necessary life experience and the senile dementia to really be able to sort out the world.

14-30. I really think they'll be more open minded about what is happening present day even if the elder people have more wisdom. Many young people when they run into a dead end either wing it or ask for help. I guess a nation could use that type of fire. :gundge:

As for cheese I guess you can't go wrong but 14-30 is still my vote. :p

Which is exactly why I went with 31-70, even though I'm in the 14-30 group. The vast majority of the 14-30 group needs to grow up first. Most of my fellows are too optimistic about life, have too much faith in people, are way too idealistic, and are generally naïve.

14-30, but then again, I'm in that age group.

I think we need some idealistic people in power, preferably the cynical compassionate ones. The better eduacted or smarter ones would generally be the ones who get in, so you have people who have recently gone through low income periods like college but still have much to look forward to in power, so they look to cover more groups. Or at least bring some reform to remove the two-party system and lessen the money influence in the US.

should not be based on age but on accomplishments.
Someone who as studied to be a lawyer, then simply worked in communitees for all their life should not be allowed to enter politics.
Practical experience and knowledge would ne nice to see in politicians...

so they might have an idea of what their doing and how it directly effects the people?
How are you going to know how something will affect someone until you've been in their shoes? Would be nice if the people who made the laws were actually professionals in the field, or have direct experience with similar situations.
