Can anybody tell me what the weather is like in South Carolina in October/November? I'm from the Midwest, so we've already got snow by the end of November. I have no idea how to pack for SC. Just need to know so I can pack my clothes for Basic Training. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not from South Carolina, but I'm close (North Carolina) so our weather isn't too different. October is my favorite month of the year, weather-wise; it's usually warm, but not too hot (mid-70s) during the day, and cool, but not cold (mid-50s to upper 40s) at night, with low humidity. Average date of the first frost where I live is October 31 - it will probably be a little later in South Carolina, since it's usually a few degrees warmer there. November is a little cooler, but not too much. We rarely get snow in November. (For that matter, December snow isn't common either.)
And for what it's worth, the South Carolina coast tends to be warmer and get less snow (thanks to that glorious Gulf Stream), while in the extreme northwestern corner of the state, it can be much colder and snowier (Appalachian foothills), but probably nothing like you're used to at home.
Edit - Given recent events, I ought to mention the chance of hurricanes and tropical storms on the coast. The Carolinas tend to get more hurricanes in October than in any other month.
Hope this helps!

Actually, late August through mid September is the height of hurricane season. October is when we get the scrubs.
