Tell me is there a reason to live?

Why would evolution answer that question???

Not really, but you'll miss out on all the fun if you don't

Yup. To make the universe a place worth living in, to make life a thing worth living, to help those who come after us to make the most of their world and to be allowed to enjoy what time they have, and to enjoy what those who preceed us have given us while bearing that in mind.

I'm under the impression that you are confusing biology with theology/philosophy again...

To make things a bit clearer :

Biology = How
Theology/Philosophy = Why

Why does it have to be for anything? What's the big deal if it doesn't have any meaning?

Excellent!

Then you have answered your own question, and this thread can be locked, having reached completion!

Yay for brevity!

I would suspect a massive inferiority complex somewhere...

Oh look, I appear to be alive! Ow! Some things call me pain. Mmmm... Some things cause me pleasure. I think I will try to avoid pain and gain pleasure. And since it appears that I'll probably be alive for quite a while I'll be careful how I do that. I won't be stupid and shoot up on heroin because becoming an addict is not pleasurable. I also don't think I'll rob, cheat, murder or steal on account of how living as part of a society can actually help me gain pleasure and avoid pain. In fact, I might even go out of my way to help other people, cause like, it's interesting. I might even set myself goals to achieve because doing stuff is more interesting than sitting around picking my nose.

The question itself doesn't make sense. If humankind has a prupose, it's to nurture and protect all living things.

The only instance of social Darwinism as a form of society that come to my mind would be Nazi Germany. I don't know of any countries in South America that would even come close to such doctrine...
