AP is reporting the same thing as is Fox News.

This is a good thing. Question is, was it forced or not? We'll never know.

Not totally unexpected. Now if only Bush would fire Cheney and then resign....it would be a beautiful Sept. 12th. :)

Not totally unexpected.

See, I didn't expect it at all. I figured the guy would just sit in his DC office, draw his salary and nothing would ever happen. We'd wait until everyone was rescued and the cleanup was really under way to begin pointing fingers, and that Brown would escape like so many have done before him.

Hope springs eternal. Unfortunately Brown will be the sacrificial lamb for the New Orleans debacle, not that Brown doesn't deserve to go.....

Agreed, Zep and I both knew he would be put on the alter of sacrifice for a while now. The question is, why will people be too stupid to put blame on Bush for appointing him in the first place?

I can hear it now, Bush didn't know the Intel was bad, and he didn't know Brown had no experience, it was just bad Intel...lol :headbang:

A better thing would be to that they were disbanding the homeland Security department, what a stupid idea by a stupid person.

Again, I want to thank you all for -- and, Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job. The FEMA Director is working 24 -- (applause) -- they're working 24 hours a day.

Priceless?

Quit being a dictator? This is a thread about Brown who was appointed by Bush, and the fallout will be inevitable. I will post what I damn well please. :D

it hard to prevent it when its just another symptom of an administration that is willing to lie, cheat, and steal. Padding resumes, creating desired intel, shirking duties is just another day at the ranch for this bunch. I think it speaks volumnes that Colin Powell publically said that his defense of the war for the administration will be a permanent BLOT on his record and that he regrets the role that he played in making the case for the Iraqi war.

This isn't about Iraq nor is it about Bush. It is about Mike brown's Resignation.

well, he jumped, or was pushed because he shouldn't have been there in the first place and his boss should have known that.

Poor GW just can't get a handle on ANYTHING going on with Katrina.

When asked about Brown's resignation his response was: “Maybe you know something I don’t know. I’ve been working,”

Bull, if he HAD been working, they would've evacuated people a million times faster AND they would be getting people out that are stuck there now instead of running in circles. Plus, isn't it his job to know things??? :(

Bush appointed him, but the Senate still had to approve him (and approve they did, the vote was 98-0), so how dare you voice such a biased opinion about our Glorious Leader! :D

Wrong. It is the locals responsibility to evacuate their citizens. There was an Evac plan that wasn't followed and we have seen the results.

If the Governor had got the guard in there faster, we might've been able to save more people. If the governor had allowed the red cross to enter, more people w ould've been saved.
