Well I don't know about you but I'm always on the ready for the wack snack attack, so I carry *my* anarchist cookbook and sandwiches in a Straight-Edge style Jansport backpack.

I'm a big fan of the record bag so I voted "radical" which should rightly be called r0x0r.

I'm a devoted follower of the British Conservative Party.... but those bags kind of make me wish I wasn't....*sob*

Why would a real Anarchist buy a bag from a corporation? Wouldn't they knit one out of their own hair or something?

On the bags - meh. They look ok, but I dont see what they have to do with anarchy.

everything. just like how drinking mountain dew is intimately related to snowboarding and mountain biking, backpacks are intimately related to anarchism. the circle a stands for "anarchy is backpacks", an old slogan of proudhon's. sacco and vanzetti were lynched by the state for their fashionable over-the-shoulder bags. the friends of durruti opened up spain's most successful backpack-based collective during the civil war.

and who could forget emma goldman's famous quote?
"go into the streets where the rich dwell. ask for backpacks. if they do not give you backpacks, ask for twenty bucks. if they do not give you backpacks or twenty bucks, then take their backpacks."

So... backpacks designed, packaged and advertised by big business for anarchists would actually be bought by actual anarchists, and not just students trying to look trendy?

but wait, you say. wouldn't it make more sense to have the A contained within a B then? ah, but it is. it's a highly stylized B, to make it easier to spray paint quickly. it's like a rounded off D with a line throught the middle - a line which just happens to be reused as the cross for the A. in fact, it is incorrect to call it a 'circle A' at all. the proper term is the B'ed A or 'backpacked A'

Now we just need an anarchist chess set. One side has capitalists for kings and those people pushing for creationism in school for bishops and the other has workers for all the pieces.

Yes, because they're largely unskilled and most likely rebelled from a different heirarchy.
