I have embraced American decadence!

Well, not really .... but ....

Today I went to one of those factory outlet malls and came across some "irregular" (that means something messed up in the sewing) items at a linen sale and I needed some new sheets.

I found some (relatively) inexpensive sheets (nice burgundy fitted with cream flats) that I decided to buy.

These things are 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton. I'm used to 300 thread count tops, but these things feel like silk. I kid you not ... I almost feel like a Roman Emperor. 1,000 thread count. I am spoiled.

I checked around online and for what I paid $75 costs $400-$600 normally. From what I can tell, the only thing messed up is the hemline on a couple of sides and I, being so handy with a sewing machine, can fix that right up.

If you've never experienced 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton, you're missing something really special.

Ok ... you may now move this to spam.

I envy you.

Time to hop in to the 54 thread monster. :D

Oooh! Good point ... good ... I can go back to my hatred of all things Western now. :D

...Can I have some of those sheets? That's insanely low for that quality.

That is not decadence. It's being crafty.
Now, if you had paid 400 $, it would've been decadence.

No, that would've been near-decadence, but then at some point, you may have gone "Damn.....should've gone for 2000 count......"

I got 2000 count for my birthday. I really don't use them too often, except when my boyfriend stays at my place, because I prefer silk, but he loves cotton.

*Sigh* how we'll survive this life together.....
