... put bold and hyperlinks in your world factbook entry? It's just that other regions manage do do it and I'm clueless. The technical forum is empty, so I thought that somebody here might know the answer.

Do you mean the description of your nation that's found at nationstates.net? I don't think you can add a hyperlink to that.

I've seen guys with bold in their factbook entry. I just wondered how it was done.

Why thank you. It all seems in vain now though, since the founder of my region has just been banned.

C'est la vie....

You can still do it if you're the delegate, and he's opened the access. It's like this:

<b>(Insert text here)</b>

If that doesn't work, then try substituting the <> with [].

For underlining, use 'u' instead of 'b'. use 'i' for italics.

to make bold things type (without the spaces) "[ b ]" before the text you want bolded and " [ / b ]" after it (without the [/b] it will not work). to undeline test replace the "b" with a "u" and to italicize text use an "i" instead of a "b", as a note this is not case-sensitive.

I believe also but am not sure the factbook supports colourized text which can be used by typing " [ c o l o r = r e d ] " before the text and " [ / c o l o r ] " at the end of the text (color not colour).

For links, they did not work in the past, however if they do work there are two usual techniques to provide them. One, move cursor to browser and "cut" or "copy" the address from the browser adress bar of the page you wish to link to and then paste it into the Factbook entry field. spacing is important for this, make sure there is a space before and after any text that may be in the same field. Two, cut adress and as above and then in the field type " L o o k i e H e r e [ / " without the spaces, paste making sure there is no space between the "/" and the address, and the type "]" again making sure there is no space between the address and the "]".

I just realiized that if you go to a post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=443294) on these forums in which someone has done something you want to see how to do, you can can click on the button at the bottom right of the post label "quote" and it will show you the coding for how it is done. that may be easier for you.
