If you win the election does it mean you get to control general forums?

A "please" will be nice, and I'll answer. I'm fairly qualified, since I'm the one who started it. ;)

What is it with people not knowing how to say "please" and "thank you" these days?

Oh God, please?

Well, it all started here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=418608), when I suggested creating organised political parties in General. Pure Metal joined me to create the UDCP, and others followed to create their own. Pretty soon there were parties popping up all over the place. To try and keep things under control, I set out a few rules (most importantly, that no one person can start a party: a party must be started by at least two people to be recognised).

The election is to determine how many seats each party has in the NS General Parliament. Parliament is essentially a place for political debate, and agreeing on proposals. Parliament has no actual power over General; the whole thing is there for people who are interested in politics. Which, judging by the number of parties, the number of people joining parties, and the number of people who voted in the first election, is quite a few. ;)
