I was thinking about it yesterday, when as a Board Member for CombatCom I was given Admin clearence on the STO forums. Holy Jesus you can get up to alot of stuff! Not to mention the crazy ass powers in the Admin Control Panel...

But people, the granddady of all prizes is the ability to mess with people's accounts on the mainsite.

I kind of feel like God, if God were an evil sonna ma biatch. It's very hard nott o smight people left, right and centre. So far all I've done is add a SpamForum... why? Because I can.

MU HAW HAW!

Anyway, for those of you who bothered to read this far. It kind of indicates we shoudl be greatful the Mods don't. Beause they can. But choose not to. Nice folks.

its kinda like being able to kill someone with the tip of your finger

by the time you have worked and studied enough to get to that point, you wouldnt consider using it for evil.

Power corrupts. I have been moded on a few occasions on another site and the results were not pretty. What can I say, I'm a power junkie.

"Knowledge is Power!"
"Power Corrupts!"
"So stay in school and be evil!

Lol, I wonder if the mods create puppets just to have them get in trouble and have someone to smite. :p

EDIT: I've been a mod(then promoted to admin) on one forum, and as it died and everything went to flamewars, I smited everyone!!!! Banned them all for a whole year, including my fellow admins, of course I did all this with a proxy. :D

EDIT2: And them deleted all the forums.

I've seen the power of a corrupt mod on other boards, it isn't pretty.

The thing is that if the mods are too corrupt, everyone will leave and they will have power over an empty forum. They know that, and that is why the folks here are not corrupt. They realize the consequences.

I was a mod on a different forum once, it was great fun, until I decided to actually do responisble things, then it got a bit droll, and then the forum died.

Omg?! The Mods have no fun... I just got my first complaint. I've been a Mod for 24 hours and they call me a facist? The guy posted granny porn!

..Uh..Yes, I would. And constantly, too.

But yeah, I've been a mod on other sites and admin, too. Spiffy the amount of powers they have, but imagine..they are our Lords and Masters, over thousands of people...hundreds of troublesome ones, included.
