Insults that don’t sting.

You ever receive an insult that was seriously meant to hurt and well thought out, but you weren’t offended at all?

Today, I was called “morally corrupt and devoid of loyalty.” I kindly thanked the person for their “insult.” When considering the source of the charge of amorality, I was proud to disgust the poor guy’s hypocritical beliefs, and when considering the charge of disloyalty, I could only beam. I am loyal to no human being, only to ideas and God. I’m glad someone noticed. :D

I've been called a "Looo-zaa" by a kid where I used to work for a year. Somehow, if it isn't pronounced in English, "loser" loses it's sting :p

I was more referring to well thought out assaults on character, but ok. :)

Yeah, one of my exes tried to get off calling me a whore and a flirt and say that I wouldn't know commitment if it slapped me in my well-deserving face. 'Course we broke up because he cheated on me, but, y'know.....fact-twisting never hurt a soul

Oh yeah, and a few days ago some kid called me a n00b on this forum I've been on for like, a year and a half. I was really more confused than anything else.

someone called me a "anti-american satanist communist" by a obviously reverent "christian" yesterday I thanked him for the compliment

I was more referring to well thought out assaults on character, but ok. :)I don't know. There haven't been that many attacks on my character and they've usually managed to offend me. It's the only instance I can really think of where it didn't.

Oh, but it's so ON if you call a theatre kid a Geek at my old high school. The Band Geeks get all up in arms like "That's OUR term, bitch!" and the theatre kids go sulk off to a dark corner.....I was both, so I got the distinction either way......

God, seriously, I'm leaving this thread, I've just made like three of the last five comments or some crap.

The guys in my shop class refer to me as "pinko commie" as often as they use my name. Some of them actually mean it as an insult, which is puzzling to me considering that I am one. And proud. I made myself a t-shirt that says "pinko".
Same goes for being called a feminist, as if it is some horribly disparaging term. It's not an insult.

I've been called 'foolish' 'stupid' and 'totally impractical'

None of them have hurt me, simply because I've been stupid, foolish, and totally impractical for my entire life. XD Also, I'm a pro at insulting and laughing at myself, so when people DO insult me, it never stings as much as it should.

Pinko originally meant commie-light. As in, a communist who doesn’t have the guts to fight for what they believe in and join the revolution. Not that I think the people insulting you know that, but if taken in that light, is it insulting to you?

Is this the reason behind the name

Actually, I get that reaction a lot from guys I meet online. It always has something to do with me denying a request centered around my boobs, and then the insults start flyin'....

Someone on this forum once called me a Nazi, which is odd, seeing as how I'm rather liberal.

I have a long-standing policy of considering insults by barely literate idiots to be compliments.

lmao. Good time, good times.

A couple of insults that don't really insult me anymore, "Facist" and "Nazi", and no, I am not either... I just happen to be a conservative in the midst of a school fillled with a bunch of liberal hippies...

Not that I think the people insulting you know that, but if taken in that light, is it insulting to you?Aside from the fact that nothing that people I don't respect call me could insult or upset me, the label "pinko" does fit me pretty well. My beliefs are perhaps more radical than what most people would consider "half-way communist", but that's just a matter of opinion. Either way, being called a moderate would not insult me, and neither does being called a pinko.

pink·o
n. Slang., pl. -os.
A person who holds moderately leftist political views; a pink.source (http://www.answers.com/pinko&r=67)

Lukewarm communist. Half-way communist. Quasi-communist. Socialist. Uber-collectivist. A Leftista who is not a member of an official communist organization or government. "Anarchists" who support Big Government policies (charlatans). One who believes in peace, order, and appeasement. One who believes in majority rule (mobocracy).source (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pinko)

It is used as a derogatory term by people who don't think highly of communism, but I am not one of those people.

Heh. I was once called an "evil, frigid bitch-whore" for turning down a random guy's request to have sex with him. The "whore" part was particularly baffling. (For that matter, I'm not sure how one goes about being a "frigid whore," but hey, whatever...) :p

Another favorite of mine was the time I was accused of being a "racist ****" for saying something to the effect of, "In the U.S. during the early 1800s, many people found slavery acceptable." That was a leeeetle odd...

Yep. Another NS poster...in a different thread, referred to me as belonging to what he considered "the dregs of humanity."

I told him that, considering the source, I was honored that a guy like him would consider me to be a member of "the dregs of humanity." And told him he could read whatever he wanted into my comment.

The poster in question is a seriously obnoxious idiot, by any standards...I won't name him because then it could be considered flaming. But, as I said, it happened here in this Forum...and I was honored, rather than insulted.
