Who's Helping the rest of Louisianna?

The attention has been on New Orleans, and probably rightfully so. An entire city was wiped out. But what'll happen to the rest of Louisianna? The St. Bernard Perish was probably flooded worst, as it was directly in the eye of the storm. There levees weren't nearly as strong or tall. I also heard that a nursing home was found there with all of the residents and nurses (100) inside it--dead.
What's also of the Delta Country? Grand Isle sustained a direct hit, and the delta was in low-lying ground in the hurricane's front-right quandrant. These places had a similar proportion of people that were unwilling or unable to leave. My prediction is that, while the New Orleans death toll will be in the thousands, the toll in the rest of Louisianna will also be quite high, because until now, no one has focused on it.

I'm pretty sure The Red Cross isn't centered on New Orleans.

It will be no doubt high....but face it, the city is the center of attention now.

The city is mostly empty. Only a few diehards are left in New Orleans. The rest of the southeastern part of the state is less dense, anyhow. It should be easy to send some Coast Guard on boats to a few population centers and look for bodies. And the Army Corp of Engineers better clean up the mess Katrina left. I blame them about 70% of the flooding, because their mega projects destroyed wetlands that may have sheltered the area.

True, but main focus in the media is on the event itself for a MAJOR area. The damage is probably worse outside, but the biggest deal will always be the cities over the country.
If a hurrican hit New York and wiped it out and nearly all of New Jersey was gone, wouldn't New York, New York dominate so disproportionately for the damage?
