A federal appeals court has overturned a lower court's ruling that the Feds have to release Padilla. The appeals court ruled that Mr. Padilla does pose a direct national security threat to the US and because of his membership in Al Qaeda, can be held as an enemy combatant. Basically, this upholds the traditions of stripping citizens of their rights during times of war in which they chose to be associated with the enemy as Mr. Padilla has openly done.

This is an important for winning wars. Now we just need to go after all the other Al Qaeda/ Al Zarqawi supporters in this country who think they can committ treason without fear of penalty.

I don't like Bush. But all members of al- queda, in the USA or here in Britain should be deported or imprisoned. Can't have scum like that collecting in our nations.

Well If These smarter people Like Asians ,Brits,Arabs Aussies goes off.....America ....LOL......sadly ..... well America will become scum......with only scums.
Sorry to say this....have U ever seen in a School or College Americans top these Asians or French or Aus or Arabs? Well be frank ....how many Americans continue studies after High School.......How many would go to compete with these International students?
Be happy that these people work hard( thats why they r not Obese) or serve well.....
Dont Use those Harsh words on these people as scum.......Be thankful for they r here.
If they went the only Business U will be having is Acting or Singing....and still U want technology for all .. so U will definitely need brainy people.

Of course there is the issue that over 50% of the students from other countries (not the US) attend schools in the US and get in on Visas that raise the cost of college for US citizens and take up seats in American Universities.

I suppose if we stopped letting foreigners in our schools we could get better educated?

Hmmm. I heard about two brothers who had trained with Al-Queda, then left, and moved from Iran to California. They were no longer Al-Queda agents. But after 9/11, the feds shut them up. For no reason. What if an ex-nazi was imprisonec because he was a nzi 60 years ago? It's not right.

What? Why don't your universities/colleges do like Canada's? Foreign students pay WAY more than local ones. In a way, foreign students help to subsidize local student fees. We like foreign students here. And fortunately, foreign students like coming here too.

And yet the international community has been doing it for 60 years.
