Treats for yourself

When was the last time you treated yourself?
Tonight I went to the gym (as is usual for me) and decided to do deadlifts for the first time in something like 6 months. I (just) managed 485lb, which is about 50lb off my best (but I was strength-training a lot harder last year when I posted that). This made me pretty pleased with myself, so I decided a wee treat was in order. On the way home I passed an HMV store having a sale and 1/2 hour later walked out with:

Dr Strangelove
Once upon a time in America (extended edition)
Once upon a time in the West
Godfather trilogy
Ong Bak (one of the best Martial Arts movies you'll ever see)*

All for a bit under $60US. So that's my weekend planned. Every so often you need to find a reason to treat yourself. It's these little things that make life nice.

Post something nice you've done for yourself recently. Doesn't have to be expensive or extravagant. Or even cost any money at all. And if you haven't treated yourself recently, then for God's sake DO SO!!

*BTW I went to see Tony Jaa's new movie 'Tom yum goong' a couple of weeks back and while it doesn't have the freshness and humour of 'Ong Bak' it makes up with it in eye-popping, mind-blowing fight scenes - all of which are done for real.
If you were to take Jackie Chan in his prime, Bruce Lee (when alive) the stuff out of the Matrix and 'Crouching Tiger', mixed them all together and created a human out of it, it would still get it's arse kicked by Tony Jaa. The guy's simply phenomenal.

Surely the fact you've managed to stop yourself thus far is more than enough reason why you should go out buying music til your ears drop off.

Haha, I would if I could afford it, but i'm not earning enough lately, and I need the money for other things. I have music lessons to pay for (and two guitars that need fixing up), train fares, books, etc. Everyone's birthday seems to fall around this time of year too, including my Dad's 50th. In addition to that, I should probably think about getting a cheap car one day. Oh, and Christmas is coming up. So my spendthrift will have to wait a few months. :p

Yeah, me too. I have enough to tide me over for a while, anyways.

Come to think of it...I *did* just spend $1000 on a new computer. So that counts as a treat! :D

i tend to treat myself with good food/a meal out... and i probably do it a little too much (probably why i'm not loosing any weight :D)

though i am going to markedly (as opposed to just kind of doing it without thinking much when getting teh food) treat myself by buying Battlefield 2 as soon as i've got this particular project done & dusted (and paid for :P )

Okay, so I haven't done any sports besides riding my bike as a means of transport and I spent the whole day with a frigging headache (weather's changing!!!).

Anyway, I decided that despite me not having accomplished anything today I was gonna get myself 2 liters of beer and 48 cigarettes - let's see how far that'll last into my weekend :D

BTW, good picks on those movies! Gottag check out your last recommandation - I love Easterns!
