Baby stabbed in New York

NEW YORK - A knife-wielding man stabbed a 10-month-old baby in her stroller, critically injuring her, police said.
Isabelle Avins was rushed to a hospital where she underwent surgery Wednesday night. She was listed in critical but stable condition, police spokesman Detective Brian Sessa said.
At the family’s request, the hospital on Thursday declined to provide further details.
The nanny was walking with the baby around 5 p.m. when the man approached them a short distance from the girl’s home, Sessa said.
“He just came out of nowhere,” witness Hennessy Arias told the New York Post in Thursday’s editions. “The baby was hysterical, crying. ... She was crying and trying to gag for air.”
The nanny, identified only as a 20-year-old woman, screamed for help and cradled the baby.
Isabelle’s father, Jon Avins, also praised the nanny.
“The babysitter saved her life,” he told reporters outside the family’s apartment building. “She’s like a member of our family.”
Bernard Derr, 48, a man with a history of psychiatric problems, was taken into custody a short time after the attack and held on attempted murder and other charges, police said.

Not much is wrong with most of the world. It only takes one man to kill hundreds.

I wonder why these douche bags with psychiatric histories wind up hurting people? Why dont you ever hear that some one with a history of mental illness saved someone from a burning auto wreck or painted someone's house? They always seem to be hurting someone or destroying something.

Except Northern Russia and Canada. Only Inuits, Gold-diggers and scientists are there.

Either lock him away for good or fry him.
Well one thing that is lucky for the kid is that she will forget it......

Unless she has stupid parents who tell her that story.

I don't think there's a causal relationship. It's the city people who vote democrat. But statisticly, if you have 10 million people in one place then some of them are going to be nuts.

We do. But when we do good deeds, we are referred to as 'colorful', 'irreverent' or 'whimsical'.
It only takes a few bad apples to spoil the whole insane bunch. :(

In cityes people feel more lonley...
Like when i changed from the 10th grade to the gymnasion, it was a whole new world...
I felt like i was so lonley at start, i missed the times when there was only a few of us and we all knew each other...
That was a whole lot better...
So a lot of people that would have been sane in a town, gow nuts in a city :(
But other then that, well the world sucks i guess

Odds are, he was fine with medication. The problem with medication, is that if you miss a few pills, you go apeshit. They really need to make anti-psychotic drugs in 'patch' form. :p

I expect that this is not the first time this sick individual has come to the attention of the authorities. Why in the hell don't we come up with a mechanism to force these people into treatment (if it even works) or lock them up before they do something horrible?
We watch people commit one crime after the next, or watch people with mental problems deteriorate one episode at a time, then we are suprised when they do something heinous. Our filter too coarse - let's start dealing with these people after a behavioral pattern is established, not when they finally snap.
What's the harm in trying a proactive approach toward people with a history of criminal insanity? These people don't spontaneously get well, so three strikes and send them back to the factory to get reconditioned.
hang the filthy son of a bitch

What they really need to do, is propel guys like this into space, to test the effects of altitute and weightlessness on psychotics.
Without any equipment. Just a large cannon that fires nuts into the Earth's orbit.
