New Wedding Song

Okay, country hasn't had a breakthrough smash couple/wedding song since "From This Moment" by Brian White & Shania Twain.

Well here's a new one... and it's a really good song.... has the trademark of any good song: a very catchy chorus. There's also a bit of an emotional tug in it, especially if you're with someone you love. Now don't think i'm getting all mushy... the purpose of this is to expose some of you to country music... many of you probably think it's all twang and bad southern accents. It no longer is... it is now an amalgam of rock, pop, blues and traditional country/western/bluegrass. Most people who listen to country (at least in Nashville) listen to other popular genres (like pop and rock and blues, etc.)

download it/listen to it any way you can:

Bless The Broken Road - Rascal Flatts

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Chorus:
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Chorus:
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Now I’m just rollin’ home into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

now England might seem to be in trouble, but they'll take their last two games and the group.

France, the same -- but they get 3 free points from Cyprus and it's their group to lose. Key games are France at Switzerland and Switzerland at Ireland. I look for France to take the group and for Ireland to finish second with a win over Switzerland to leap-frog them.

Spain might be in trouble... unless they catch a big break, they'll finish second in their group and will have to enter the playoffs to get into the Cup.

Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handey (sp?)

I once ate a beaver's tail
And then I thought,
"Why does her beaver have a tail?"

okay, time for a selection from my 8th grade poetry book (non-USians: I wrote this when I was 13):

Joy is a fat duck
That waddles through the sky
Lower than the clouds
The laughter of many.

Greece
Croatia

Yes, but Scotland did superbly. We seem to be actually playing football again.

On the topic at hand, I listened to other versions of that song - well, the first verse, anyways. It sounded ok...although it sounds familiar; as in, it reminds me of another song. Can't think which one, though...

All in all, not bad.

did you hear the chorus?

(and yes, Scotland are threatening to take second in Italy's group... might play Spain in the playoffs to get to the WC. hehe)

did you hear the chorus?

I'm afraid not; iTunes Music Store doesn't cover it that far. And, regretably, the link you provided doesn't work for me. Some nonsense about lacking the necessary plug-in.
