California is the most Racist state in the U.S.A.

I live in California.

The Science Teacher doesn't let us choose our own seats, because when he did, the entire class was divided into a white table, an Indian Table, and Oriental Table, and a Social Pariah table...currently, none of our teachers let us choose our seats anymore.

I mean, just a few days ago, the kids at my school said that the people in New Orleans deserved it, just because they're black.

I make friends with like the only hispanic kid..in any of my classes...and suddenly, all the Asian kids (they were all friends with each other), started hating me... and this was in the HONOR'S classes.

I REALLY wish that school fights were allowed, and I could strangle these kids. Or strap 50 pounds of lead on them, and strap drop them off into the middle of the atlantic.

BRING BACK CORPOREAL PUNISHMENT!

Nuff said.

That little anecdote says nothing about California, apart from "I live in California."

Sounds like the root of this little problem is ethnic segregation at large in California. Until different cultural groups begin to homogenise, the problem isn't going to go away and can't be solved by teachers attempting to evenly distribute skin tones in class.

Lmao. The most your short story proved is that public schools in CA (or at least in specific areas, mine was fine) need to be overhauled (assuming its a public school. Private schools can be equally messed up). Events such as these, are not unique to just California. As for the ones who said New Orleans deserved it, refer them to some counselors, or at least get them through some EST.

Oddly enough, here in my Texas school, a supposedly “racist” state, all types of people are friends, and teachers don’t have to assign seats to diversify.
A Hispanic friend of mine participated in a foreign exchange program last summer. He experienced more racism during a few weeks in France than he did during seventeen years in Texas. I always though that was rather odd.

I don't think the Conseluers Office can fit the majority of the people I know...

Luckily for me, the majority of the people I know are NOT my friends.

I think mixing ain't a bad idea, It encourages you to mingle with others, not force you to suddenly like each other.

California is a lot of mosts, but I doubt that it's most racist...

My particular reason for not wanting to live in CA would be cost of living issues.

Our English Teacher once tried to put together groups that were not racially segregated, by forcing the students not to be able to pick.

Needless to say, three fights occured when the teacher left the room.

I too live in California,in the Silicon Valley, which, by the way, is on of the most culturally diverse and liberal places I know of. So frankly I don't see what you have to complain about. If minorities choose to segregate themselves, that's fine with me. You have to realize that it's not the "oppressive white majority" in California that is causing this (in my city, it's not really a majority, the asians are), it's the minorities themselves. In fact, asians are some of the most racist people i know. Their perceptions of hispanics and blacks are downright shameful, and this is coming from a white republican who was born in Virginia. So if your going to go around pointing fingers at someone, at least don't blame whites because they are percieved as the fountain of all racism. And as for what to do about racism- i personally don't care. Admittedly very few of my friends are non-white but the ones I do have at least I respect. Still, it is wrong to enforce integration, just as back in the old days enforced integration in the form of bussing only caused the wealthy and white community to move out to the suburbs, leaving poor slums in the city that were as poor if not poorer than the segregated schools. And look where that's gotten cities like L.A. and New York. Racism is something that cannot be easily fixed by the actions of a few, the mental tendencies for it are just too strong. And then there is the issue of rational discrimination, but that's a whole different story that I doubt will be appreciated.

And Asians also REALLY have bad perceptions of other asians.

That's why tons of the Japanese kids are hated in my school. :S

Shouldn't the thread title say something about your school, rather than the entire state of California?
