I'm half way through designing my nation's passport. So I'd appreciate any feedback you guys have.

I've linked it to stop the 56ks crying (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/Dionysus777/ROTPassport.jpg)

Do you have friends, just tell me?

I liked it. It kicks ass compared to mine.

The front page doesn't look very realistic. The French is lacks accents, which makes it misspelt. A passport needs more than two pages.

For inspiration, look here (http://www.national-anthems.net/passports/).

Actually most example passports only show the document pages. But yes, I am working on a cover.

Just for the records I'm running the Seal of State through PhotoQuicker right now to make it match the passport better. I'll do something similar for an example photo. I'm yet to add stitching and I'm aware that some of the watermarks are off slightly. I'll try to fix the watermark problem later, but unless I'm planning to actually use this passport I don't think they'll be a problem.

Keep the suggestions rolling. I'm readin through the link Fass gave me now.

Hey good for you.

I had my passport confiscated recently because I got an email from some folks who wanted me to store weapons for them in "an event" that would happen in the US.

(I'm Muslim, by the way)

I can't leave the country because some jack-ass who I've never even met sent me an email and I did my patriotic duty and reported them. So ... I lose the basic freedom to travel for no reasion.

Hurray!

Nope, that's the hard part. I don't have photshop any more so I'm shuddering to think how I'll do it. I may have to use MS Word...

I know. I've got a sneaking suspicion my internet access is being monitered. Namely that when I applied for a US Visa they knew sutff about sites I'd been to...

I may have to use MS Word...Proper passports always have the seal (usually in gold) and a leathery color... Graphically that's not much to do, although I doubt MS Word can handle a good gold effect...

The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) may suffice for the task. And I hear something about bittorrent... but I would never, ever support anyone using it to procure copies of programmes they have not bought. It should only be used for legal purposes.

In correct, the inside indentity pages of a passport contain two sets of overlappign watermarks and a background print. The gold seal you are refering to is on the fauxleather cover, that may be where I runn into trouble...
